GabrielVirus winning streak on LoL EUW

Today I had a nice amount of wins. Before today I have been on a bit of a losing streak on League of Legends EUW. I think RIOT might just have been secretly picking on me by putting me in bad match-ups, but I managed to get out of it. Well, I did this by just by doing blind pick in stead of draft pick. In this post I will share some thoughts on LoL and my game play.

First of all, I play as GabrielVirus on EUW. You are welcome to add me as a friend if you'd like  :). I have decided to blog a little about the game as I am making my way up the ladder in competitive play. /nobigdeal

I am currently kind of a support main, but it seems that I am transitioning to bottom ADC. I am considering to start playing it more often since it allows for much better carrying in the late game in comparison to playing support. What I mean by this is that ADC champions are much stronger in the late game usually and that you have more of a visible impact. I still love playing support, but we'll see what happens.

Anyway, I find that blind pick is better to play than draft pick nowadays. At least if you want to win more. It might be very situational for me, but lately I am receiving the worst team members when doing solo queue draft. /hmm

I'll be posting more on LoL soon and will start streaming my games again on my YouTube channel in July. /bye
Ahri from League of Legends

I did a quick drawing of Ahri from League of Legends a few weeks ago, but never shared it. Anyway, here it is. It didn't come out too good, but I didn't have good stock photos to work with and I wanted to finish it as fast as I could.

Now that I think about it, I have actually only played Ahri once that I can remember. Maybe I should try playing her in normals... Have a great week! /bye

Jinx from League of Legends drawing

I decided to do another drawing of a League of Legends character. I didn't really give much thought into what character to draw, but just went with Jinx somehow. She reminds me of Harley Quinn from Batman. I like how the drawing came out. It was super fun to draw!

I'm still a bit noobish in LoL. The learning curve is a bit steeper than in Heroes of the Storm. The game is quite fun also. My only problem is that LoL has way more trolls (especially AFKs) than Heroes of the Storm. Hoping that higher ELO will be better. /nobigdeal

Oh and today is 29 February... Have a great week! /bye
Annie drawing from League of Legends

Annie is one of my favorite characters in League of Legends. I was bored the other day and decided to draw her. I pulled some Annie cosplay images from the web and based this drawing on one of them. I drew Annie and her teddy (Tibbers) on an A3 size paper, which I rarely do. Not a great drawing, but I had fun.

Until next time! /bye

Drawing of Hayden Panettiere

Last night I had some time to kill after programming for a bit. I decided to do a simple sketch. With my last two sketches I focused on speeding up my drawing process, even if it would lead to more inaccuracies and perhaps less detail.

Taking a look at the news

I opened the MSN news application this morning to find only the usual load of negative articles. The media is full of drama like always - that is why I usually ignore it. Small things that I would deem insignificant (like one man mockingly name-calling another) are made headlines. The media also seem to focus on publishing tweets nowadays. Obviously a lot of rude things can be found on Twitter. /nobigdeal

Just the other day, ANN7 made headlines about the tweet of some bird woman in the Natal (apparently she said something rude). The next day when I switched to the channel, the news reporter said "even more comments have been made on Twitter about the tweet by the bird woman"... I mean seriously? Was it not expected that people would comment? =D>

Like the old saying goes: no news is good news. Have a great day! /bye
Liv Tyler drawing

It has been a while since I have drawn anything. I didn't really plan on drawing today, but as I was sitting in my room, listening to Veela and the rain falling outside, I sorta just started. The drawing was (of course) a very quick one, but pretty fun to do.

We have been having a rainy week in the North West. It has been cloudy most of the time which is really welcome since we had a heat wave a few weeks ago. I love gloomy and cloudy days and hope that this weather will continue in the coming week. /please

Our campus is currently full of first years. The seniors will probably be returning this week so I expect some more life forms to be dwelling around here soon. /bye
Anime drawing

On most TV channels you cannot get excited about commercials. The Japanese people however are known to mostly be the exception to most of the world's expectations. So yeah, my first blog post for 2016 will be about Japanese commercials. Sounds boring? I promise it is not!

If I had to summarize Japanese commercials in one word it would be strange! Most of the time I have no idea what is being promoted (until the end) - even though I understand the language somewhat. /nobigdeal

Things I like about Japanese commercials

  • What I enjoy most about the Japanese commercials is that they are (for the most part) funny and quite surprising. You are always confused by them! :)
  • They avoid confrontation as far as I can tell. I haven't seen any commercials that say "we are better than other brands" or "our product is 40% better that the leading competition".
  • Some of them are anime-styled! How cool is that...
  • The sounds and images are mostly based on artistic fantasy of completely unrelated to the product. This adds to the surprising effect I guess.
Anyway, check of the video that I've attached to this post! Sayonara! /bye
